CONTEMPORARY ART

On Saturday, June 24, contemporary art particularly shone on the occasion of the sale of Paintings in the house Marc Labarbe.

The dynamism of acrylic on canvas realized by Hans HARTUNG (1904-1989), after a bidding contest between 12 people essentially bidding by phone, reached the sum of 44 600 euros. Its green, yellow and orange hatches painted in a very meticulous organization seem to be confused with the background of the painting: we do not know if it is these features that mix with the background or the background that finally invites itself on lines.

Oil on canvas Georges MATHIEU (1921 - 2012) testimony if it takes its typical "calligraphic" in black on a greige background, has also attracted many art lovers. No less than seven people followed the auctions by phone, and the live was not left behind. It is also a user who made the highest bid, taking this table to 26,300 euros.
